A two-line shayari under the names is the line guests remember and read aloud. All the lines below were written for MyIndiAura, so you can use them freely on a printed card, a WhatsApp card or a digital invite. Each is short enough to sit under the couple's names.
Where the shayari goes
- Under the blessing at the top, as a welcome to guests.
- Under the couple's names, about the couple.
- At the bottom, as the request to come ("aapki upasthiti...").
Use one, or at most two, on a card. More than that crowds it.
Welcome lines for the top of the card
Lines from the parents
Lines about the couple
Baraat and sangeet lines
Khushiyon ki mehfil hai, roshan hai har shama, Aap tashreef laayein to mukammal ho samaa.

Haldi, mehendi and roka lines
Function cards are lighter and more playful than the main card. These fit a haldi or mehendi card, or the first page of a roka or engagement invite.
Writing your own line
If none of these fits, write your own in the same shape: two lines of about the same length, ending in words that rhyme (प्यार and बहार, साथ and बात). Mention something true about the two of you, such as the city you met in, a nickname or the season of the wedding, and it will mean more to guests than any famous couplet. Then read it to one elder in the family before it goes on the card.
Lines for the bottom of the card
Short lines for WhatsApp
On WhatsApp the first line shows in the chat list, so a short one works best.

Tips for choosing a line
- Match the family's tone. A playful baraat line suits a sangeet card; a dua suits a Nikah card; a line about the parents' blessing suits a card the grandparents will hand out.
- Read it aloud. A shayari is meant to be said. If it trips on the tongue, choose another.
- Check the spelling of nuqta letters (ज़, ख़, फ़) if your family writes Urdu words in Devanagari; elders notice.
- Keep the font readable. Fancy scripts make two lines hard to read on a phone; use the card's main font.
Put the shayari on your invite
Every MyIndiAura invite has a line for your own words. Write the shayari there and it appears on the opening of a Cinematic Invite (₹499) or the cover of an Invite App (₹399), or add it to a free wedding card.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use these shayari lines on my card?+
Yes. All the lines on this page were written for MyIndiAura and are free to use on printed cards, WhatsApp cards and digital invites.
Where should the shayari go on a wedding card?+
Most often under the couple's names or at the top as a welcome. A second line can go at the bottom as the request to attend. One or two lines per card is enough.
Should a Nikah card use Urdu or Hindi script?+
Families do both. Urdu in Devanagari with nuqta (ज़, ख़) is easy for most guests to read; some families add the same line in Urdu script or Roman letters.
