An English wedding card in India still follows the order of a traditional card: a blessing at the top, the invitation from the elders, the couple, the date and venue, the functions and the family who will welcome guests. Keep that order and simple English reads as warmly as Hindi or Urdu. Every format below is free to copy; change the names, dates and places.
The order of an English wedding card
1. A blessing or invocation (Shri Ganeshaya Namah, Bismillah, Ik Onkar, or a verse).
2. The invitation line from the parents or grandparents.
3. The couple, with their parents' names.
4. Day, date and time, then the venue with the city.
5. The functions, each with its own date, time and place.
6. "With best compliments from": the family members who welcome guests.
7. RSVP and one or two phone numbers.

The blessing line in Hindi, above the English
Many families keep one line in Hindi or Sanskrit at the top even when the rest of the card is in English. Elders notice it.

Small things that matter
- Write the time a guest should arrive, not the muhurat alone, or write both.
- Spell names the way the family spells them, and check the parents' names twice; it is the most common reprint.
- Use "Mr. and Mrs." or both first names ("Mrs. Sunita and Mr. Rakesh Sharma"); many families now prefer the second.
- Keep one phone number per side so guests know whom to call.
Sending the card on WhatsApp
A printed card with all of this is long; on a phone it becomes a scroll. A digital invitation puts each function on its own page with a map and RSVP. A MyIndiAura Invite App costs ₹399, a Cinematic Invite with a filmed opening ₹499, and you can start from a free wedding card with name editing.

Frequently asked questions
Who is the invitation from on an English wedding card?+
Traditionally the bride's parents on the bride's card and the groom's parents on the groom's card. Many couples now write 'Together with our families' and invite guests themselves; both are correct.
Should the card say 'request the pleasure' or 'request the honour'?+
'Request the honour of your presence' is used for a religious ceremony, such as the pheras, Nikah or a church wedding. 'Request the pleasure of your company' suits the reception or a celebration.
Can I mix Hindi and English on one card?+
Yes. A common format is a Hindi or Sanskrit blessing line at the top and the rest in English, so both elders and younger guests feel at home.
How early should the card go out?+
Six to eight weeks before the wedding, and three to six months for a destination wedding, with a save the date first.
